WOMEN'S PISTOL LEAGUE

PISTOL INSTRUCTION

The ISA’s Ladies Instructional Pistol Shoots (LIPS) 2016 season ended on August 23, 2016 with a big celebration. It was a fun shoot with reactive targets – pins, clays, balloons and pink targets.  All the ladies received participation certificates, packets of information, targets, as well as gifts and prizes. The ladies had a great time even though it rained. They even got to “call out their instructors” in a head-to-head competition of instructors. Thanks to State Representative George Dunbar for the pamphlets, PA Gun Law and Firearm Inventory books that were included in their packets of information. Thanks to ISA for hosting and to all the instructors and participants in making it a very rewarding experience. Hope to see you next April.

______________

We gather the first and third Tuesday of each month from April to August at 6:30 pm.  Membership in ISA is not required. This league is open to the public. Having your own handgun is not required to participate. Firearms and ammunition are available to use.  There is a $5.00 fee to cover expenses.

The Women's league is designed to take anyone from beginner to whatever skill level they wish to achieve, for both self defense and competitive shooting.

While this not a "formal" class, the instruction and material is based on basic pistol and self-defense courses.  Some of the subjects that we cover are:
Firearm Safety
Correct Stance
Sight Picture
Choosing the best firearm and caliber for your hand size and purposes
The "mindset" for self-defense
Care and cleaning of your firearm
Different methods of carrying concealed
Self-defense in the home
Point and shoot method
